The Roswell Country Club was organized in the summer of 1905 by members of the Roswell community who wanted to create recreational facilities for its members and families. Some of the first officers were men such as W. E. Wisely, E. A. Cahoon, and J. A. Graham. The original purchase of land was 50 acres from the Stone Estate and from Cosmos Sedillo. In 1906, construction of the Club House began by D. Y. Tomlinson, who secured the bid. A 16-acre lake stocked with black bass was added. Additional land was later purchased from John T. Stone, and was greatly improved with the addition of a nine-hole golf course and a swimming pool. The Roswell Country Club has served its members and the community of Roswell for almost 100 years. With plans for expansion and renovation, it will continue to serve the community of Roswell.              Click here to view our archive of photos...
